The CAEAL-accredited Metals Analysis Laboratories (MAL) consists of a suite of ultra-clean rooms in which sample preparation for metal and isotope chemistry via extractions, separations and digestions (air balanced rooms with H.E.P.A. filters, hot plate and microwave; CEM M.A.R.S. 5) are performed.

Trace metals analysis is performed for environmental samples from water, sediments, biological tissues, mineralogical samples and lab fortified experiments such as dosing and bacteria metal interactions.

List of trace elements:
Al, As, B, Ba, Be, Bi, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, Pb, Se, Sn, Sr, Ti, V, Zn, Hg

EQUIPMENT:

Thermo X Series ΙΙ Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS)
Thermo Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES)
Thermo Multi Collector Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (MC-ICP-MS)
Laser Ablation, Yag and Femto
Varian Atomic Absorption Spectrometer Vapor Generation (AAS-VG)
